Map server edit checks

← What's newediting

On a layer from a map server, Groundwork reads a feature again before it sends your change. If someone changed or deleted the feature after it loaded, Groundwork sends nothing, and the save message opens. Its one button is Discard my change and load the latest. Groundwork checks a deletion in the same way. If someone already deleted the feature, Groundwork removes it from your map.

If Groundwork cannot read the feature from the server again, it sends nothing, and your edit stays open for you to save again.

A save now sends only the fields that you changed, and the geometry only if you moved it. So dates and times that you did not change stay as they were.

How to try it

  1. Open the same map server layer on two devices.
  2. On the first device, change a feature.
  3. Save the change.
  4. On the second device, change the same feature. Do not reload first.
  5. Press save.
  6. When the message opens, press Discard my change and load the latest.

Troubleshooting in the User Guide covers this in full.
