Saving back to the source
On a map where you have edit access, save a change to write it to the map’s data source. An indicator beside the layer name reads Saving to…, then Saved to, with the name of the place where the data is kept.
If Groundwork cannot complete a save, it now tells you. A message fills the screen, names the layer and what happened, and you cannot dismiss it. The buttons on it depend on the cause:
- A teammate saved first. Discard my change and load the latest is the only option, because the copy at the source always wins.
- A lost connection or an expired sign-in. Try again shows too.
- Your access is view-only. Download my change shows, so you can give the file to your administrator.
How to try it
- Edit a feature on a map that you can edit.
- Save the change.
- Look at the indicator beside the layer name. It shows where Groundwork saved the change.
