Travel-distance sorting
Set a location and press Nearby to sort the feature list by the distance to each feature along real streets and paths. A feature on the far side of a river is not nearby, even when it looks close on the map. The map frames your location and the closest result.
Automatic is the default. It measures walking, cycling and driving together, and ranks the five closest features by the best way to make each trip. Each result shows the distances side by side, and the shortest for each way of travel is highlighted. Click a distance to draw that route on the map.
To choose one way to measure, use the ⌄ beside the button: walk, cycle, drive or straight line. Straight line ranks every feature in the list.
How to try it
- Search for an address in the location box.
- Press Nearby above the feature list.
- Click one of the distances on a result to draw that route.
- Open the ⌄ beside the button, and choose another way to measure.
